Our Vineyards
Pacific Ridge Vineyards is a boutique California winery, producing less than 2000 cases each year of mainly Santa Barbara County appellation wines. We produce many of our wines from fruit grown at Bien Nacido and nearby vineyards, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah. The proprietary red blend is produced from Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Pacific Ridge Vineyard, on our family estate in Camarillo, consists of 4 acres of Syrah and Zinfandel. All wines are aged in 100% French oak barrels, from various coopers, forests, and toasting levels. The Pacific Ridge winemaking operation has been based in Santa Barbara County since 1995, and will be open to the public at Terravant Wine Center in Buellton starting in Fall 2008.
Pacific Ridge Vineyards
The estate vineyard pictured on the right has been in the family for over 20 years, and is located at 980 feet above sea level on Pacific Ridge in Ventura County, California. Its sweeping views overlook the Pacific Ocean and Channel Islands National Park, as well as most of the county. The steep hillside is a sandy loam soil, planted mostly with Syrah Clone 7 and Zinfandel in a generally 6' x 6' spacing. Hand tending and triage (sorting and washing) tables on site during harvest have made a huge improvement in quality. Of course, family and friends handling the grapes with care make all the difference. This is one of our sources of 100% Syrah, the other is in Paso Robles.

Bien Nacido Vineyard
The most well known vineyard in Santa Barbara County is a source of our award-winning Chardonnay (most recent ratings of 93 and 91 by Geerlings & Wade) and also our Pinot Noir, an excellent cool weather vineyard. The terroir is perfect for producing the classic Santa Barbara Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, which is very different than that produced in warmer areas.
